Overview
Welcome to the SRA Symposium 2009! SRA International is pleased to inaugurate activities for the Society's annual Symposium that will take place as part of the SRA international meeting on October 17-21 in Seattle, Washington.
During the year leading up to the Symposium, we will deepen and enrich our Symposium tradition by continuous enthusiastic encouragement for the submission of contributed papers, posters, abstracts, and milestones of accomplishment.
The 2009 Symposium will include entries for contributed papers, posters, abstracts, and milestones. Each category has unique and special directions. Specific calls for each of these four categories will be repeated in various forums beginning in March 2009 and continuing until the Fall. However, all processes and submissions can begin at any time. The link that follows provides a detailed schedule and deadlines for submission in all categories.
General Information and Open Submission Policy:
Any research administrator or related colleague from any institution can submit a contributed paper, poster, abstract, or milestone of accomplishment. Submission for the SRA Symposium is not limited to SRA membership. In fact, submission is open to any individual, whether a research administrator or not, whose scholarly or professional interest would be related to research management. Topics are encouraged from any areas related to research administration specializations (e.g. pre-award processes, post-award processes, strategic planning, financial management, computer science, research ethics, human research, animal research, intellectual property, technology transfer, publication standards, human resources management, etc.).
Competition and Awards:
Papers will be eligible for 1st place awards for Best Paper of the Year and. Posters will be eligible for either Best North American Poster of the Year or Best International Poster of the Year. Awards will be announced after the October 2009 meeting, with awards being presented at the 2010 annual international meeting in Chicago, Illinois. There are no awards for abstracts or milestones of accomplishment.
