Membership Categories

Individual Full Membership

  • Individual Full Members pay an initial member fee of $205 and an annual renewal fee of $175.
  • Individuals with this membership type receive all member benefits.

Institutional Full Membership

  • Institutional Full Members occupy a single membership that is paid for by their employer. Initial member fee is $205, and the annual renewal fee is $175 for each individual that is assigned under their employer’s membership. Given that the employer paid for the membership, the employer may terminate the membership of the individual to whom it is currently assigned and transfer it to a new employee under special circumstances such as a when an employee changes employers or occupations. Regardless, it is not a shared membership and can only be held by one individual at any given time
  • Individuals with this membership type receive all member benefits.

Affiliate Membership

  • Affiliate membership fee is only $40.00 per year. This is an introductory membership category for anyone who is experiencing SRA for the first time or for anyone who is new to the field of research administration. Current SRA full members or previous full members who have allowed their membership to lapse CANNOT switch to this membership category. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Unlike full members, affiliate members do not receive a subscription to the Journal of Research Administration nor do they have access to the Body of Knowledge or the online membership directory. They are also ineligible to hold an elected office within SRA, and they cannot vote or nominate someone to an elected position. Affiliate level membership is required to attend a chapter meeting; however, full membership is required to attend a section meeting or the international annual meeting. Affiliate members are also ineligible to receive a certificate of completion for SRA certificate programs.  

Student

  • Individuals with an assigned member type of Student pay an initial membership fee of $70 and an annual renewal fee of $40.
  • This member type is reserved for full-time undergraduate and graduate students only.  Persons pursuing their Ph.D./ Doctorial studies, do not qualify for student membership.
  • Proof of full-time student status can be shown by furnishing a transcript from the accredited college or university currently being attended. This member type can apply to students who are actively pursuing their undergraduate, post graduate, doctorate degree; or enrolled in a school of professional studies.
  • Once a student has completed their course of study, their Student member type must be upgraded upon expiration of their current Student membership cycle.
  • Individuals with this membership type are eligible to receive discounted rates for all SRA International meetings. However, SRA International reserves the right to exclude any meeting from discount eligibility for any reason.
  • Individuals with this membership type receive all member benefits.

Retired

  • Individuals with an assigned member type of Retired pay an initial membership fee of $70 and an annual renewal fee of $40.
  • Only current SRA International members may qualify for this member type.
  • Individuals must be an SRA International member with an Individual or Institutional member type for at least one year.
  • There is no limit to how long an individual may remain a Retired member.
  • Individuals with this membership type are eligible to receive discounted rates for all SRA International meetings. However, SRA International reserves the right to exclude any meeting from discount eligibility for any reason.
  • Individuals with this membership type receive all member benefits.

Non-Member Subscriber

  • This member type is assigned to those who only subscribe to the SRA Journal.
