View from the Top | Looking Forward to 2021

I imagine that if you are anything like me, you are very relieved to see 2020 come to an end. While we are far from being back to whatever “normal” means, I look towards 2021 with high hopes and aspirations.

Our committees are already hard at work planning educational experiences and services to enhance the SRAI member experience. We have formed a new Strategic Planning working group which will consist of members from our Executive Committee and representatives from our major committees: Governance, Membership, Education and Professional Development (EPDC), and Communication. As a group we will assess where we are as a Society and how much we have accomplished as outlined in the last five-year plan, which ends in February 2022. You can help us in this endeavor, by filling out your evaluation surveys after each event or by writing me directly at schalled@mskcc.org to share your thoughts and tell us what it is you need from YOUR Society.

We are also looking to refresh our Divisions - SRAI has five Division categories which work to see that programming exists across all our offerings that would appeal to members who identify in these different sectors. These are:

  • Government
  • Commercial
  • Non-Profit
  • Education - Large University
  • Education – PUI (Predominantly Undergraduate Institution)

We are in the process of securing co-chairs for each Division group and then will look for specific ways to work with the EPDC and Membership committees to ensure that our programs and services meet the needs of these members.

Another new and exciting member benefit in 2021 will be our new SRAI Podcast series! Look for the Podcast naming contest in this issue of the Catalyst! More details about the program will be announced after the New Year.

Best,

Debbie
