Note from the Editor | New Look for Spring

Just as spring is a time for looking forward, for growth and for new beginnings, the April Catalyst has these same tell-tale signs.

First of all, we are proud to present a new look for the Catalyst.  We hope this new layout is more readable and will bring greater focus to our articles in the coming months. We thank the Catalyst committee members for their ideas in helping create the design. Please let us know what you think.

Secondly, growing and learning from our experiences while looking forward to post-pandemic is a thread throughout several articles. Zoya Davis-Hamilton and Sarah Marina offer their thoughts on what meetings will look like post-pandemic in this month’s Background Noise. In Part one of a series, Holly Zink provides insights on adaptive work in research administration during COVID-19. Mark Lucas reports the views of two SRAI members on the benefits and drawbacks of virtual and in-person conferences.

In Kudos Korner, Catherine Thompson describes how SRAI professional development activities have enhanced her career. Note to self: don’t forget to check out the upcoming SRAI activities!

Check out the Snippet Tool in Working from Home and the rear-view look of the iSRA Financial Management Conference to see what you missed. And please take a few minutes to answer the monthly poll.

Finally, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, get out there and enjoy the longer days and nicer weather, tune up your bike and pull out your gardening tools. Spring is in the air!
