The contracting process can present many challenges and cause delays in attaining an executed agreement. These challenges can be in relation to a combination of the contracting process itself, difficult negotiations, troublesome language, lack of training or workload distribution. During the contracting process, it is common to hear “What the Heck is Taking So Long?” This webinar will walk through the steps necessary to perform an evaluation of the various stages of the contracting process to identify where delays exist. Furthermore, it will provide useful steps to streamline the process and reduce delays. Evaluating each step of the process will help determine not only where the delays occur, but to prioritize the challenges to have the most impact in improvement or set expectations if the challenge cannot be streamlined. Whether the challenge is related to the process or the negotiation of difficult language there are steps every institution can take to maximize their resources to optimize the contracting process.
