2018 Ohio Chapter Meeting
Dear fellow Ohio Chapter members,
Welcome to the 2018 Ohio Chapter annual Meeting! This year's meeting will be held on Monday, June 11 at The Ohio State University's Fawcett Center in the heart of Columbus, Ohio. We are excited to present a program chock-full of informative and inspiring speakers and activities.
Our content this year is focused on the art and science of collaboration with the theme "Stop, Collaborate and Listen." Collaboration is at the heart of our work as research administrators; collaboration with sponsors to meet outcomes, goals or deliverables; collaboration with investigators to submit proposals and manage awards; collaborations with our colleagues at other institutions and collaboration within our own institutions. Our member-led sessions will address these topics from a variety of diverse viewpoints, and we will continue to provide sessions aimed at enhancing our leadership skills.
We are excited to present a program chock-full of informative and inspiring speakers, sessions and activities.
Keynote: Complexity and Challenge in Research and Research Support in an Era of Collaboration
Dr. Jan Weisenberger, Senior Associate Vice President for Research from The Ohio State University, will provide the opening keynote for our annual meeting. Dr. Weisenberger helps to guide and oversee the entire Ohio State research enterprise and has championed several collaborative ventures between the university, industry and non-profit organizations in order to facilitate new discoveries by faculty, staff and students.
Plenary: The Age of Collaboration
Dr. Tiina Urv, Director of the Extramural Research Program for the Office of Rare Diseases Research in the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will offer a plenary session at the meeting to provide an in-depth look at collaborative research at the NIH, including the challenges and benefits of working in a consortium.
Be sure to check out the concurrent sessions that will be offered to help plan your schedule.
