Our Membership Committee has increased by three new members this year. We are very happy to introduce you to Amber Burke, Heather Kraus and Mimi Sellis to all of you this month.
Amber Burke is from the University of California, Santa Cruz as a Research Administrator II/Proposal Analyst. Amber has jumped into the Membership Committee as a member of the Catalyst Subcommittee. In addition to her volunteerism for SRAI, she spends her free time as an advocate in her area for the homeless and caring for foster youth. When she isn’t doing that, she enjoys relaxing with gardening and heading out on the local mountain bike trails.
Heather Kraus has been a member of SRAI for five years. She is the Senior Manager for Research Administration at the University of Michigan. She has been busy in the five years that she has been with SRAI! She currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Midwest Section after a successful year as President, planning the Midwest/Southern Section Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee in May 2017. In addition, she has served on planning committees for various section meetings over the years. As a new member of the Membership Committee, we already have her working hard on the Mentor Program that will make its debut in the very near future. When we asked her how she likes to spend her free time she said, “I love spending time with my family!”
Mimi Sellis joins us from Emory University where she is a Post-Award Administrator III. This is her first year as a member of SRAI and she is jumping right in! Her perspective as a new member will be very helpful as we continue to identify ways to strengthen our membership and retain the members that have joined throughout the years. She enjoys listening to music, playing the piano and playing tennis in her spare time.
We welcome our new members and appreciate their service to SRAI. Please feel free to reach out and contact any of us on the Membership Committee if you have any questions or concerns. Information about the Membership Committee can be found at SRAI Committees.
