Throughout my extensive 25+ year career, I have acquired invaluable knowledge and expertise in research administration. From proposal development and contract negotiations to compliance and financial management, I have tackled multifaceted challenges faced by administrators and researchers alike. My current role as the Director of Special Projects at Temple University has provided me with a broad perspective on the intricacies of our field and the unique needs of both researchers and administrators.

In addition to my professional experience, I have actively engaged with SRAI, demonstrating my commitment to the advancement of research administration. Serving as the Chapter President in Texas, I fostered collaboration and engagement among our members, enhancing the research administration community. Furthermore, my involvement on SRAI’s Governance Committee and current term as Chair of the Engagement and Diversity Committee reflect my dedication to promoting inclusivity and driving positive change on a broader scale.

Vision for the Future
My vision for the future of research administration revolves around equipping professionals with the technical and functional skills necessary to tackle present and future challenges effectively. Recognizing the rapid advancements in technology, I believe continuous learning and development are essential for staying ahead. As a member of the SRAI Board of Directors, I intend to prioritize professional development initiatives that empower research administrators with the knowledge and tools to navigate evolving regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices in research management.

To realize this vision, I aim to bolster and enhance our comprehensive training programs that cater to the evolving needs of our members. Supporting our already strong educational programs and tactically focusing on emerging needs will ensure that SRAI provides relevant and up-to-date educational resources, enabling research administrators to excel in their roles. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, we can empower our members to meet the demands of their positions and contribute meaningfully to their institutions' research endeavors.

In addition to professional development, I recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion within our profession. It is my belief that diverse perspectives lead to innovation and new solutions. Therefore, I am committed to championing initiatives that create a welcoming and inclusive environment within SRAI. By actively encouraging participation from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, we can foster a community that thrives on collaboration and generates creative solutions to complex challenges.

Conclusion
With my extensive qualifications, experience, and unwavering dedication to advancing the research administration profession, I am honored to present myself as a candidate for the SRAI Board of Directors. My vision centers around equipping research administrators with the skills they need to excel in an ever-evolving landscape. Through professional development initiatives and an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion, I aim to build a strong foundation for the future of our profession.
