SRAI Elections

The Society needs strong, dynamic, and creative leadership. Joining SRAI's leadership team offers the opportunity to advance the profession of research administration, influence the future direction of the organization, and contribute to an association that supports your own professional growth.

Board of Directors Elections 

Nominations Now Open for Secretary and At-Large Board Member! Due June 15

Help SRAI advance excellence in research administration, management, and the development of our profession by submitting a nomination to serve on the Board of Directors. As a Board member, you will collaborate with a diverse group of leaders to guide the future of SRAI and contribute to its ongoing success.

Terms will begin at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting, following the announcement of election results, and will end at the close of the Annual Business Meeting in the relevant year based on the term length for the position.

Nomination Information

Notifications of open Board positions are sent annually via email during the month of May. You must be an active SRAI member, and have been a member for at least five years, to serve on the Board of Directors. Positions on the Board of Directors include:

Nominations must include:

  • A completed nomination form
  • Copies of letters of support from at least three members from at least two Sections. 
  • A curriculum vitae, with highlights of research administration activities, especially SRAI activities (and/or activities that demonstrate capability for the position).
  • A letter of support from your immediate supervisor on institutional letterhead. 

The following materials are not required as part of the nomination application but are requested by the Nominations Committee to be used on the ballot. If these materials are not submitted with the nomination form by the deadline, the nominee will be contacted with a request to submit the materials prior to publication. Failure to submit these materials does not disqualify a candidate's nomination. 

  • A 150-word bio and professional photo (head and shoulders recommended) for publishing. The bio should include the reason for running and where you see the future of SRAI. This will be included on the ballot. 
  • A 400-600-word article to be included in the Special Edition of the Catalyst. The article should include the reason for running and where you see the future of SRAI. 

Submit your self-nomination online by Monday, June 15.  

To nominate someone else, nominator must:

  • Be a full member of SRAI. 
  • Submit a completed nominator form.
  • Include a letter of support for the nominee.
  • Coordinate with the nominee to submit two letters of support from members from at least two different Sections. 

Nominee will be required to submit the following supporting documents:

  • A completed nomination form. 
  • Copies of letters of support from at least two additional members from at least two Sections. (Coordinate with the nominator to submit these letters of support.) 
  • A curriculum vitae, with highlights of research administration activities, especially SRAI activities (and/or activities that demonstrate capability for the position).
  • A letter of support from immediate supervisor on institutional letterhead. 
  • Identify if they currently serve as an officer, board member, staff member, or committee chair for another Research Administration professional society in the US (i.e. PRIM&R, AUTM, NCURA, etc.) or internationally (i.e. SARIMA, RAMN-J, ARMS, EARMA, etc.).
  • Nominee must agree to sign the SRAI Non-Disclosure Agreement if elected.

Section Officer Elections

Support SRAI’s growth and development at the local level by nominating yourself or a colleague to serve as a Section officer. As a member of your Section's Executive Committee, you will work alongside a diverse group of leaders to help drive SRAI's success from the ground up.

Terms begin at the close of the Annual Section Business Meeting (unless otherwise stated for the Section), following the announcement of the Section's election results. The terms will terminate at the close of the Annual Section Business Meeting in the appropriate year, depending on the length of term for the position.

Nomination Information

Positions include:

  • President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Submit a nomination for the International Section for President Elect and be a part of SRAI Leadership! 

Nominations must include:

  • A curriculum vitae, with highlights of research administration activities, especially SRAI activities (and/or activities that demonstrate capability for the position).
  • A 150-word bio which includes the reason for running and where the candidate sees the future of their Section. This will be included on the ballot. 
  • A photo for publishing. This will be included on the ballot. 
  • A letter of support from your immediate supervisor on institutional letterhead (recommended but not required).
