AI has become ubiquitous, finding its way into our homes, cars, and the businesses we frequent. For higher education, AI presents opportunities for increasing efficiency and effectiveness—if we can strategically approach its adoption and use. Presenters will define AI and will provide an overview of its current and potential uses in higher ed. They will also share some recommendations, based on findings from their research, that can help higher ed professionals continue investing in their own AI skills while supporting their institutions’ needs and priorities.

Lindsay Wayt

Lindsay Wayt, PhD

Senior Director, Analytics, NACUBO

Lindsay K. Wayt, Ph.D., is senior director of analytics at NACUBO. She works on initiatives and programming that support NACUBO’s efforts to help colleges and universities integrate the use of analytics to achieve institutional goals. This includes collaborating with NACUBO members and key stakeholders from other organizations to propel the use of data-informed decision-making in higher education. She has experience conducting higher education research, studying topics such as the use of data and analytics in higher education, tuition discounting, and higher education leadership. Lindsay completed her doctoral work focused on educational leadership and higher education.

Jackie Agustin

Jackie Agustin

Manager, Analytics and Research, NACUBO

Jackie Agustin is manager of analytics and research at NACUBO. She works on analytics and research initiatives and collaborates with NACUBO members to bring forth spaces—in person and online—to discuss the role of data and analytics in higher education. Agustin additionally helps inform projects that elevate the priorities of NACUBO’s constituents and supports the creation of program content for conferences. Prior to NACUBO, Agustin focused on securing grants and in-kind resources to support educational programming and strengthened the visibility of underrepresented constituencies during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Agustin holds a master's degree in public affairs from the Watson Institute at Brown University and earned her bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
