Section and Chapter Officers

Volunteering with your local section or chapter provides ample opportunity to form strong connections with other research administrators and managers, develop new skills and give back to your society. Leaders manage and organize local programs, oversee the financial management, and engage in membership recruitment and communication.

Election & Nomination Process - Sections & Chapters

Officer terms will begin at the close of the Annual, Section or Chapter Business Meeting (unless otherwise stated), following the announcement of the election results. The terms end at the close of the Annual, Section or Chapter Business Meeting in the appropriate year, depending on the length of the term for the position. All elected officers must sign a copy of the SRAI Non-Disclosure Agreement and the Statement of Responsibilities and Professional Conduct before their term begins.

Position Descriptions

To submit a nomination for a Section or Chapter position, the following documents must be included with the candidate submission:

  • Completed Nomination Form 
  • An abbreviated Curriculum Vitae or resume, including any SRA International activities or activities that demonstrate capability for the position
  • A 150-word bio which includes the reason for running and where the candidate sees the future of their Section/Chapter.
  • A photo (head and shoulders recommended) for publishing.
  • A letter of support from the candidate’s immediate supervisor on institutional letterhead (recommended but not required)
