Research Contract Review and Negotiation Intensive In-Person

This 2-day training intensive is designed to equip participants with an understanding of the complex and challenging aspects of contract negotiation and management within the realm of research. Join course instructors as they explore various contract types, negotiation factors, and best practice for efficient negotiations.

Research contracts are distinct from grants and cooperative agreements. Understanding the components of a research contract and institutional risk analysis are important concepts to consider when determining which contracts to accept at your institution and how to administer them properly. The content will be organized around the presenters’ experiences in negotiation and administering contracts related to and supporting research activities. The focus will be on several case studies, information gathering, redlining agreements, and negotiation tactics.
