Nicole Quartiero serves as the Director of Research Project Management at the University of Notre Dame, where she leads a large and dynamic team of research project managers. In this role, she oversees all research project management strategies and initiatives, driving operational excellence and advancing Notre Dame Research’s mission to support complex, collaborative, and impactful research that addresses society’s greatest challenges. Nicole earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Clinical Research Management from Arizona State University. She is a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) and a nationally recognized thought leader in research administration. With over a decade of experience spanning academic and clinical settings, Nicole has cultivated expertise across the entire research lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, and compliance processes. She was honored by the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) as a Future of the Field Rising Star (2021) and currently serves as the Future of the Field Subcommittee Co-Chair. Nicole is a sought-after speaker and presenter, regularly publishing and presenting nationally on best practices in research project management and administration. She is also an active contributor to professional organizations, including SRAI, NCURA, and RAD. In 2024, Nicole was part of a collaborative team awarded an NSF GRANTED planning grant to advance research project management underscoring her commitment to fostering innovation and improving research operations.
