When asking Tabatha Lemke, our Midwest Section President, for a volunteer to highlight in her section, she didn’t hesitate in recommending Lisa Werning. While so many people helped bring success to the Midwest/Southern Section, Lisa has helped in many ways with her Section.
Lisa is current working as the Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She joined SRAI in 2015, but is making her mark by volunteering and helping when calls for volunteers come up. While she is relatively new to the research administration field (seven years), she has sincerely enjoyed her engagement with SRAI through meeting her colleagues across the world who also conduct clinical research. Through professional development and sharing best practices, she has grown in her current position.
Outside of the clinical research world, Lisa enjoys time at her lake house (who wouldn’t like that?). She spends time with family, which includes three children, fishing and boating. She stays active by playing tennis and golf.
