SRA International members rock! As research management and administration professionals, they never stop improving, learning, achieving, or earning new heights of success. We love sharing good news and offering a well-deserved slap on the back for recent personal and/or professional achievement. In keeping with that sentiment, please join with us as we congratulate Debra Schaller-Demers on her promotion and new position!

SRA International is a professional networking community of learners. One way to gain knowledge and expertise is to share our stories of successful achievements with our peers and colleagues. Often research managers/administrators are cast in the role of promoting, supporting and applauding others. While this may be gratifying in many respects, it is also healthy to have pride in one’s own accomplishments. Kudos Korner offers SRA International members a wonderful and respectful venue for sharing and “bragging.”

Debra (Debbie) Schaller-Demers started as the Research Communications and Education Manager at MSK in 2008. In October 2009, the office of Research Outreach and Compliance was created, and she was appointed as its director. Over the last eight years, her portfolio of responsibilities has grown almost every year and so has her staff. In August 2018, her title was revised to reflect the greater scope of her duties, and she was promoted to “Senior Director.” As if this day job was not enough, Debbie agreed to become an Adjunct Lecturer for the City University of New York’s (CUNY) School for Professional Studies (SPS). As such she will be teaching “Introduction to Research Compliance, Ethics, and Integrity” during the Spring 2019 semester, which is part of the new online Graduate Program in Research Administration and Compliance. Farida Lada, PhD another SRAI member is the academic director and original creator of this course. This is a great example of the power of SRAI networking – bringing like-minded people together to share what they know with the global research management community.

• Recently published papers (e.g., articles, chapters, books, etc.)
• Presentations (e.g., posters, sessions, workshops, video, web, etc.)
• Professional Awards and Prizes (e.g., grants, contracts, honorary prizes/awards)
• Recently earned degrees or professional accreditation (e.g., CRA, CIP, etc.)
• Other honors (e.g., promotions, contest winners, organizational citations/recognition)
• Transitions (e.g., new jobs, homes, family, retirement)

Please note that we will try and publish as many submissions as possible each month, but SRA International reserves the right to delay publication for future use or to edit and/or omit at its discretion.
