The SRAI 2019 Annual Meeting program is now posted!

On behalf of the other two co-chairs, Gayle Walters, and Devin Kreuger, I want to encourage everyone to check out the educational programming opportunities that will be available at the meeting in San Francisco (October 19 - 23). Many thanks to all who submitted proposals and to the committee that reviewed and selected the presentations that have been included in this excellent program.

The Annual Meeting theme this year is “Leading Change, Inspiring Excellence." something we research administrators must deal with on a daily basis. In line with this theme, our first Keynote Speaker is the futurist Michael Cushman, Senior Fellow, DaVinci Institute & Director of Consulting, who will help us visualize our future and recognize the opportunities ahead. We also will be introducing a new streamlined one-hour session format as well as a number of “Quick Talks” on targeted topics that can be covered in 20-minute segments.

Workshops and sessions related to the leading change theme will be offered in the following eight educational tracks:

  • Financial and Post Award Administration
  • Management and Operations
  • Professional Development
  • Research Impact and Communications
  • Research Ethics and Compliance
  • Research Law and Regulations
  • Sponsors and Agencies
  • Sponsored Programs: Planning, Development, and Deliveries.

The 2019 SRAI Annual Meeting program also will offer registrants with a full SRAI membership in effect at the time of the meeting an opportunity to obtain course credit toward the following three certificates:

  • Pre-Award (PA)
  • Practice of Research Administration and Management (PRAM)
  • Research Law (RL)
  • (NEW) Introduction to Research Administration and Management (IRAM)

Registrants can also receive continuing education units and credit for all modules and plenaries they attend during the meeting. More information on this can be found on the official page of the event

There also will be a 1.5-day Senior Executive Institute Workshop offered for individuals who have leadership and management responsibilities for their organizations.  Attendees will connect with other leaders facing the same types of challenges and learn to develop, enhance and grow the research enterprise and related programs.

In short, the 2019 SRAI Meeting in San Francisco offers something for everyone.  We hope you will join us.  We look forward to seeing you there!
