Note from the Editor | The Catalyst is YOUR Newsletter

Dear Readers,

As we near the beginning of the holiday season with Thanksgiving this month and inch closer to the start of a new decade, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your enthusiasm, interest, and support for SRAI and the Catalyst! Our annual meeting this year broke a record with the highest number of attendees to date and we are so grateful for your continued readership and support. With Debra Schaller-Demers as the new President Elect, and a longstanding contributor and supporter of the Catalyst, we are in capable hands going forward.

We would like to remind you that the Catalyst is YOUR newsletter. The Catalyst aims to provide its readers and SRAI members a space to network, share information on their experiences in research administration learn from each other, and acknowledge each other’s achievements. To this end, we always welcome YOUR insight, input, and recommendations on anything related to research administration and YOU! We want to ensure that your contributions to the field are acknowledged and that knowledge and educational offerings that the SRAI provides are propagated and available to everyone. The Catalyst’s editorial team hopes you find this newsletter interesting and valuable in your efforts to provide your institutions and organizations that support that they need. We encourage you to collaborate, investigate and contribute to improving the quality of the academic and research world in the US and abroad.

We have an exciting issue for you this month and if you missed the annual meeting don’t worry, you can read all about it in this issue in the 2019 SRAI Annual Meeting Recap by Pamela Miller, View From The Top gives you more information from the latest Board of Directors; meeting. Katie Watkins takes us through her secret life as an administrator and we welcome 3 new members to the SRAI Board of Directors!

Until next time, Happy Thanksgiving,
