Note from the Editor | Happy Reading, Learning and Meeting Virtually!

Dear Catalyst Readers,

Despite the life changing new normalcy that this current pandemic has caused, SRAI is proud to be able to offer its annual meeting virtually next month! Join us during the month of October where you can access the content that you would normally enjoy at our in person annual meetings. We're offering an online exhibit hall, workshops, main events, educational tracks and social networking opportunities designed to fit your schedules and interests. The first day will begin with our opening Keynote address and we will close out the first day with an entertainment event an virtual happy hour. Day 2 will begin with our closing Keynote speaker and end with our traditional business meeting and awards ceremony recognizing recent and career-long professional achievements exemplifying individual excellence in research administration. An added bonus is that this year each of the concurrent sessions offered will be available to participants on demand for an additional 30 days after the event has ended.

Early registration for a discounted fee is open until October 9, so please register asap!

In the meantime, you will find that in addition to a sneak peak at the meeting next month, this issue of the Catalyst has some cool work from home tips from Karen Bone as well as article by Holly Zink on her secret life as a research administrator! The results of a nationwide survey of research administrators is in and reports that a number of us are feeling isolated! Not to worry, check out some tips for overcoming this by Katrina Akioka and Theresa Caban.

Happy Reading, Learning and Meeting Virtually! Looking forward to “seeing” all of you at the meeting next month.
