Note from the Editor | Wherever the Road Leads You: LAS VEGAS!
Ahoy, faithful Catalyst readers, we hope you are enjoying the last stretch of summer, soaking up those rays and filling your emotional tank with friends and family gatherings, before you head back to campus. This month’s edition has something for everyone, wherever the road leads you.
For those still in vacay mode, check out the lighter side of life with Summer Podcasts by Carly Pigg and Pamela Miller’s take on Research Administrator in the Kitchen.
For the more serious-minded, Heather Brown and Mark Lucas continue their series on Research Administration Careers with a deep dive on Education, and we profile Mazen Aziz and Henry Tran’s Journal article on Assessing Faculty Research Development activities.
And finally, for those in between, if you are an adventurer at heart looking to fine-tune your professional skills and develop your networks, we remind you of the upcoming 2022 SRAI Annual Meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, October 31 - November 4. We have it on good word that the Planning Committee and Co-chairs (Tonya Edvalson, Dave King and Terry Campbell) are pulling out all the stops to make this in-person event one to be remembered for years to come! A jam-packed agenda of workshops and sessions on a broad range of topics such as research development, research impact, research law, leadership development, and remote work; plenty of celebrations of administration excellence, and lots of fun in store.
PS: To give you a glimpse of what’s in store, our roving Catalyst photographer recently captured the Annual Meeting Co-chairs as they prepare for Vegas.
Take advantage of early bird rates, open until September 9. Be there or be square!
VIVA LAS VEGAS!
