Join Us in Seattle, WA

We’re heading to Seattle, Washington in October for the 2023 SRAI Annual Meeting, and my co-chairs, Lynette Arias, Andrew Wray, and I are very excited about the program we have planned for you. We hope everyone has an engaging and enjoyable learning experience through attending sessions, meeting new people, reconnecting with those you have met before, volunteering, and sharing real life experiences with others.

To make the most of your conference experience, we suggest that you have a plan. A great resource to help you plan is the SRAI meeting app, that you can use to plan out your days. Download the app so you can research the sessions and speakers ahead of time. Once you’ve done that, choose two to three sessions which interest you for each time slot. This way you have a backup plan in case your top selection is SRO (standing room only).

Take advantage of all the events taking place during the conference. If you are new to SRAI, make sure to join us for the Newcomers Meet N’ Mingle on Sunday afternoon, or sign up for a dinner group on Monday evening. Don’t forget to join us for the Opening Reception: Ready for Take Off, taking place on on Sunday evening at the Museum of Flight. The special event this year on Tuesday evening is Sips N’ Social at Pike Place Market.  We are excited about the Opening and Closing Keynote Speakers and we hope you enjoy them as much as we think you will.

Take this opportunity to Network. Whether this is your first or one hundredth meeting, take the opportunity to make connections with others in your field. Whether you are looking to branch out or just want to learn some best practices that work for others, this is a great opportunity to find those connections. Another way to connect is through volunteering with SRAI….ask a volunteer at the registration desk how you can get involved.

After a full day of workshops or sessions, take time to enjoy some of Seattle’s interesting attractions, such as:

  1. The Seattle Space Needle
  2. Volunteer Park Conservatory
  3. Market Ghost Tour
  4. Seattle Pike Place Market
  5. Seattle Art Museum
  6. Seattle Aquarium
  7. Seattle Antiques Market
  8. Seattle Chocolate Factory Tour
  9. Pinball Museum
  10. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Or perhaps you prefer to mellow out, by relaxing with new connections or friends over drinks or dinner. However you choose to spend your time, remember to have fun, and enjoy the Conference.
Lynette, Andrew, and I look forward to seeing you in Seattle. We will be out and about, so feel free to ask us about the many exciting activities taking place throughout the conference.

And finally, if you haven’t registered yet, do so today. Regular registration rates are available until September 27. Seattle, here we come!
