Annual Meeting Scholarship

The Annual Meeting Scholarship was established in 2016 and given for the first time. Through different initiatives by SRAI and donations by members, the Annual Meeting Scholarship will allow two recipients to benefit from leading edge education and networking opportunities offered at the Annual Meeting each year. The Scholarship includes complimentary registration (pre-conference workshops and SRAI membership are not included).

What does the Scholarship Provide?

The scholarship provides full meeting registration for up to two recipients for the Annual Meeting.

Am I eligible for the Annual Meeting Scholarship?

The scholarship is open to everyone, both existing members and those who intend to join SRAI. Please note, the scholarship only covers the full meeting registration; full member SRAI dues are the responsibility of the applicant and must be paid in full prior to the meeting. The applicant must NOT be a prior recipient of a travel scholarship within the past five years.

What are the Scholarship Requirements?

Applicants must provide the following:

  • A letter of support from your supervisor or institutional contact providing a financial guarantee for your travel OR a confirmation letter stating that the person is coming to the meeting and they will pay any additional costs incurred (the second option is in regard to individuals that may be transitioning from one position to another).
  • A brief statement of your financial need (no more than 150 words).
  • A brief description of your educational needs and how conference attendance will contribute to your professional development. How will your participation and knowledge gained provide an impact when you return to your institution? (250-500 words)
  • Please indicate how you would like to become engaged with SRAI. Identify your perceived benefits of being an SRAI member and the type of day-to-day SRAI activities that you would like to volunteer for or seek a leadership position.

Recipients of the Annual Meeting Scholarship must provide a brief follow-up report within three months after the SRAI Annual Meeting indicating what they got out of the Annual Meeting and how they have started to become/stayed involved in SRAI. This report may be considered for publication within the Catalyst Newsletter.

How is the decision made?

A special review Committee will convene to consider all applications when the submission deadline has closed.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance at the end of July.

The call for 2025 applications will open in June.
