Hello friends! The Alabama/Mississippi Chapter of SRAI is excited to join the Connect platform and to engage with our colleagues throughout the organization. Our chapter brings together research administrators of all types and degrees of experience to further our industry and support one another through education and growth opportunities. We are looking to grow our membership to include professionals from all Alabama and Mississippi institutions with a role in the management and administration of sponsored programs, whether it be in a university, community college, medical school, non-profit organization, industry or other setting.

Hi to everyone out there in "essential personnel" land! I hope this note finds you all well and finding some joy in the unique situation we find ourselves in. I couldn't let today go by without taking a moment to reflect on the fact that we will wake up tomorrow and not be enjoying each other's company and learning from one another at our originally-scheduled chapter meeting in Tuscaloosa. If I have learned anything from this time of quarantine and the public health crisis, it is that there will be more need than ever before for professionals with our experience and expertise as research administrators for all of the important research, outreach, and service to come in future days! This too shall pass and we will be ready and anxious to help our institutions, communities, and society move forward. I look forward to seeing you all soon as we remain hopeful we will be able to meet on our rescheduled date of July 10th. Until then, stay healthy, stay safe, and stay positive! Take care, Stephanie
