What I Wish I Knew When I Started in Research Administration | Sandra Nordahl
Members of SRAI’s Distinguished Faculty were recently asked, “What do you wish you knew when you started in Research Administration?” Over the next few months we will share their insights and observations.
What I wish I knew as a research administrator is the complexity of the work that we do. The different fields that have evolved since the early ‘80s (yes, it’s been that long!) and the ever-changing regulations require us to pause and reflect, often when time is of the essence. Communication, patience, and understanding are my most valuable tools, along with kindness.
