Research Leadership Intensive

Research Leadership Intensive

Program Objective

Research, technology, and innovation are becoming ever more complex. Success requires vision and focused research management leadership. Strong managers bring order and consistency into complexity but forging ahead in a competitive environment requires strong leaders who understand themselves, their teams, and their environment. Mark and Debra make a great team. They made the training fun, interactive, and provided a variety of additional resources I can use to further my knowledge in Research Administration.
– Jacqueline Miles, Senior Proposal Coordinator, Texas State University (Research Leadership Intensive, 2019)

Sometimes it's hard to engage a group like this but Mark and Debra created an environment that was fun and people felt comfortable sharing.
– Jennifer Myers, Associate Director of Finance and Planning, University of Kansas (Research Leadership Intensive, 2018)

This training was wonderful, and I have already recommended it to a coworker. I was a bit worried when I learned that there were just two speakers for the entire workshop, but both were extremely engaging.
–Kelly Thompson, Financial Administrator, Northwestern University (Research Leadership Intensive, 2017)

Debbie and Mark were an outstanding duo. The content was great and they kept our attention. They play well off one another and there was a good mix of lectures and activities. I liked that the activities allowed us a bit more time to get to know our classmates. They were conscientious in keeping to the published schedule and that was appreciated as well. The mix of personal examples and stories helped keep us engaged. Many thanks to Debbie and Mark for the time, effort and outstanding prep work to make a great presentation.
–Sarah Marie Huban,Director of Research Administration, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Research Leadership Intensive, 2017)

The topics were very relevant to today's issues in Research Administration. The in-class group activities were helpful in relating to the topics.
