Happy New Year to our members! I hope that you are all finding this year to be one of excitement and ready for what SRAI has to bring for professional development, networking, and creating new friendships. We have a lot going on!
MENTOR PROGRAM: The Membership Committee has several initiatives that we are working on and with the incredible minds on the committee, we will come up with more. One such initiative to watch for is our Mentor Program. Be watching your inboxes for more information. Our subcommittee has been working hard to develop a program to pair up those that are looking for growing their professional skills and those that have those skills to share. It’s an amazing opportunity to work one-on-one with each other and network. I’m really looking forward to the applications and watching this pilot program over the next 12 months.
SECTION MEETINGS: This part of the year is always exciting because our sections are at the final stages for their Section meetings. I would invite you to seriously consider attending a Section meeting, if you can. Not only is the content valuable for improving your tool kit at your job, but you are typically sitting next to someone in your region that is likely dealing with the same issues that you are dealing with and you can find that you are not alone. I have seen solutions and AHA! moments come about often at these meetings. Take a moment to check out the websites for your section. If you can’t make that meeting, feel free to try the other section meeting that is offered. There is no rule that you have to stay in your section. Mix it up!
SECTION ELECTIONS: I’d also like to highlight that it’s time to elect your Section officers. These are the leaders at your regional level. Please don’t forget to vote. These leaders appreciate your support. If you haven’t received your ballot, please check your junk/spam folder or contact Debbie Appler.
Over the coming year, the Membership Committee will be highlighting members across the organization. You will be learning more about members, what they have gained from being part of SRAI, what they do in their “day job” and what they like to do when they aren’t at work.
We value all of you. We want your input. Please reach out if there is something that you are concerned about, want us to be doing differently for you. That’s what is great about SRAI. This is our organization and we want to provide the benefits, services, and programs that you need. We love hearing your voices.
