Destination: San Diego!
The meeting identity for the year 2019 Western / Southern Section Meeting captures a vibrant city full of warmth with a welcoming vibe. San Diego calls itself “America’s Finest City,” so it is a natural fit that the “finest” research administrators from the Western and Southern Sections will gather at this destination in March 2019. San Diego has so much to see and do. Fill your days with learning and networking and then head out after the meeting day is done to see all the attractions, restaurants, night spots and cultural sites San Diego offers.

Do you have some great ideas for our meeting? We would love to hear them so we can plan a meeting that is more than educational-we want to have fun, too. This is YOUR meeting and we can’t make it happen without your help. Let us know what you would like to see/do. Send us your ideas. Even better, volunteer to help on a committee.
Call for Proposals Now Open
Informed subject experts are invited to submit speaking proposals through Wednesday, November, 7, 2018. Six tracks will be offered at the meeting: Professional Development (PD), Sponsored Programs Planning, Development and Deliveries (SP), Financial and Post-Award Administration (FA), Sponsors & Agencies (SA), Research Ethics and Compliance (RE) and Management and Operations (MO). Speaking veterans and those who are first-timers are welcome. If you would like to develop a speaking proposal with a partner and want help connecting, let Lynda or Gina know.

The meeting’s host hotel, Manchester Grand Hyatt, is located near San Diego’s top attractions. The Grand Hyatt is the tallest waterfront hotel on the West coast and is the home of The Top of the Hyatt, located on the 40th floor of the Harbor Tower. This venue offers spectacular panoramic sights of Coronado Island and the San Diego skyline – great for beautiful sunsets and photo opportunities after a full day of meetings!
