Did You Take Time to Relax, Reflect, and Rejuvenate?
Happy New You and New Year, SRAI!
2021 is over. We have packed her up and tucked her away so deep in storage, if ever found, it will be classified as a time capsule. I hope you all took some needed time to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate over the holidays. Dr. Kristin Scroggin of genWHY Communications, a good friend and colleague, stated the obvious, “You’re not a hero for working yourself to the grave. You have to take care of yourself. You need to show your family that you care. You need to focus on relaxing and resting! So you can kill 2022!” #takeyourpowerback
The three Rs: Relaxation, Reflection, and Rejuvenation are a must for us all. We have so much on our plates, and there are no sideboards. No one can work non-stop without needing to recharge. So hopefully, you all took some very much-needed personal time for self-care.
Relaxation – you left your work stress at work. You activated your out-of-office messages and did not check emails? – Great!
Reflection – with relaxation comes reflection. Looking ahead of what might be, thinking about who you are and where you want to go, finally, how to be a positive force in 2022. – Excellent!
Rejuvenation – The first two R’s calibrate our perspective. They help us recharge our batteries, make informed decisions both personally and professionally, and get—in the words of Ms. Patti LaBelle— “A New Attitude.”
So to my SRAI Colleagues and Friends, “We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise, we harden.” —Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
Happy New You in 2022!
