The Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) continues to be a leader and key innovator in providing training, networking, and overall professional growth within research administration and management. I am honored to be the current Treasurer and Chair of the Development and Finance Committee (DF) for SRAI and I am grateful to you, the SRAI members, for entrusting me with this important position. I bring over 25 years of experience as a research administrator in central, pre- and post-award and departmental administration to the Executive Leadership team. SRAI has been a positive force in my professional life, helping me to grow technical proficiency, refine management and leadership skills, and build a professional support network of many treasured SRAI colleagues.
I began my leadership role with SRAI in 2014 as the Northeast Section President Elect, served on the International Board of Directors and was elected Treasurer in 2019. I am a proud Distinguished Faculty Member and regular presenter at Section and Annual Meetings. I believe in the responsibility of our community to share knowledge and SRAI’s mission to provide superior, cost-effective education on the most pressing topics in the profession. As Treasurer, I continue to dedicate my efforts towards ensuring the fiscal health of the organization and proper stewardship of SRAI funds. I am particularly proud of SRAI’s successful navigation of previous, current and potential financial challenges. Despite innumerable obstacles over the last 3 to 4 years, SRAI has built innovative and essential educational content and expanded access to new members through our pricing models and virtual programing. All of this has been achieved while maintaining a strong fiscal footprint through prudent management of our revenue, expenses and reserves.
While we have weathered many storms, the challenges of yesterday will continue to impact the Society in the coming years. Discipline, focus, and dedication for successful navigation will be required. I am running for re-election to entrench our achievements, learn from our challenges, and maintain the organization’s pioneering spirit and fiscal health. I guarantee that I will put forth my best efforts to ensure a bright outlook while, as a Society, we continue to innovate our online and in-person educational deliverables while maintaining financial stability. The foundation we are building today will foster the growth of the future of our profession and help SRAI continue its standard of excellence and history of cutting-edge innovation, both domestically and worldwide.
