This 3 week training intensive is designed to equip participants with an understanding of the complex and challenging aspects of contract negotiation and management within the realm of research. Join course instructors as they explore the various contract types, including Research, Service, Clinical Trials, Subcontracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material/Data Transfer, and more. Instructors will provide practice strategies and techniques for negotiation and risk mitigation for important terms such as Indemnification, Publication, Intellectual Property, Confidentiality, and much more. 

This program is designed to help participants understand the different research contract types and their respective components. Speakers will explore the intricate terms and conditions that can appear within contracts to effectively mitigate risks to an institution. The content will be organized around the presenters’ experiences in negotiation and administering contracts related to and supporting research activities.

Intended Audience

This session is intended for new to mid-level research administrators who are involved in negotiation and review of research related contracts and agreements.

Online Classroom:
  • Intensive sessions will be held via Zoom.

CEU Credits:
  • This course is eligible for 15 Continuing Education Units (CEU) credits.
  • Participants who successfully complete the course and meet the evaluation criteria will receive a certificate of completion along with documentation of the earned CEU credits.

  • Participants will have access to 5 additional hours of Webinars related to the intensive training.
