Just as recharging our batteries, having fun, and renewing relationships are welcome hallmarks of July, the Catalyst also has a few treats in store this month. Back by popular demand, we give you Part 2 of the 2021 SRAI Summer Reading List.
In addition to our regular columns, we introduce two new series. The first one is RA Career Paths, in which members describe their career journeys as research administrators. This month, we highlight Tania Johnson. In the second series, Jose Alcaine and Kayla Calvo provide a birds-eye view of Grant Accounting and its intricacies.
For those in a learning mode, be sure to check out the SRAI hot, hot, hot, summer educational offerings, and Katherine Bui’s report on a recent Odyssey Program networking event. Looking forward to the fall, Gina Hedberg provides a behind-the-scenes look at New Orleans, the host city for the 2021 SRAI Annual Meeting. On the office front, Mark Lucas, describes the hybrid work model his institution is piloting, and Heather Brown reports on the results of last month’s poll on workplace location and other benefits.
We hope this month is particularly restorative as you savor special times of social interaction and fun--activities which were distant memories last year. We will catch up again in August.
