Note from the Editor | New Ways of Thinking

When thinking about what to write for this month’s Note from the Editor, I couldn’t help thinking about the saying, “April showers bring May flowers,” but I felt like I had already said this before. Sure enough, in April 2021, I started my Note from the Editor with this exact same phrase. I suppose it’s natural to return to such a common thought this time of year and more challenging to think outside of the box. However, I’m happy to say that our articles, unlike my column, are full of thinking about things in new ways; from Yolande Hall and Kimberly Pratt finishing up their series on wicked problems to Kimberly Rooker’s discussion of their pool hiring program and our continuation of “What I Wish I Knew when I Started in RA” by Stacy Pritt.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t highlight our incoming section officers. Congratulations again and we appreciate your work with SRAI. For those who ran and were not elected, we appreciate your volunteering and hope to see you involved in other capacities. SRAI’s strength is our membership, and I continue to be thankful for everyone’s contributions.

So before you stop reading to enjoy the May flowers, we hope you enjoy this month’s Catalyst and, as always, if you are interested in writing, please submit through our portal or consider reaching out to us for Contributor Assistance.
